This tropical hibisus was about as close as I could get to locating an appropriate photo in my folders for celebrating Cinco de Mayo.  I had to search to find a tie-in, and found that dried hibiscus flowers and its extract are used in Mexican cuisine.  I even found recipes here for ‘Hibiscus Flower Tea’ and Hibiscus Flower Sorbet”.  YUM

As for me and my plans for celebrating this day, I’ll be trying to make it to my favorite mexican restaurant (Rancho Nuevo) to have a bite of dinner and perhaps a margarita.  

Oh, and this particular flower was found growing in Hilton Head, not Mexico.   afs
