Charity:  Love; universal benevolence; goodwill.

Check out the sincerity and happiness reflected on the faces of this group of volunteers from Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Anderson.  They recently participated in a neighborhood food collection called Trick or Treat So Others May Eat (TOTSOME).

For the past 10 years, this annual event has kicked off the “giving season” for Anderson Interfaith Ministries (AIM), stocking their food pantry shelves for the busier than usual holiday months to come.  The group pictured here was the first group to arrive on collection day with their filled bags of food from the neighborhoods that they canvassed.

The thousands of items collected during TOTSOME by the 24 participating groups are still being counted and shelved to help meet the needs of the more than 650 families that visit AIM each month seeking food assistance.

My heartfelt thanks go out to each individual volunteer who participated in this effort, and to each local resident who left a bag of food out for them to pick up.  AIM could not begin to serve the needs of so many families without YOU! 🙂
